There are many companies out there on the internet when it comes to how to scrap the car,
waving cash in front of your face seems to be a big one, not too many seem to sell  the
legal side to you. We live in a society controlled by bureaucracy the aim to extract money
out of our pockets to fill the governments pockets.

The car industry is a big target,  there are thousands of people out there unaware of how
and who one should use to  scrap the car. Even more emphasis should be considered on the
legal disposal of vehicles ; it's become very apparent the industry is rife with crooks.
Look around, at almost every set of traffic lights on bridges, flyers left on your old car,
signs everywhere anyone and everyone is a scrap dealer.

Offer huge money for your car or van and in virtually all cases will be illegal dealers, just ask yourself when was the last time a large well known supermarket advertised their
services on a lamp post! This act alone is illegal. The greatest problem with the scrap metal trade is the licensing is not enforced, in the last 15 years we have been asked
on one occasion for our licensing details; this was in 2008 this speaks for its self.
In my opinion, the main reason the criminal side has joined the scrap car industry and
had a long and very fruitful time, and now when the horse has bolted they introduce new
legislation making it illegal to be paid in cash, and can this stop the theft of scrap
metal, No! Of course, it won't; it's not going to stop crooks cutting copper wire down
the railways or out of electricity substations what's needed is proper and constant
law enforcement.

The police and authorities need to be more proactive by 50% at least. How to dispose of the car the safest way?  Right down to the nitty gritty, the first thing you should be
aware of is anyone in the business of dealing with scrap cars MUST be licensed  by the council where they are based as a Motor Salvage Operator; details of the applicant are processed by the Police, and if you are known to them the licence will be declined, next when dealing with scrap cars or any type of waste as a business, you also have
to be licensed with the environment agency.

When choosing a removal   service there are the four questions you need to ask, are they Motor Salvage Operators,  where are they based, do they have an environment agency  license and do they supply you with a full receipt on collection, Not scribble on note pad but proper invoice?  Ask for full details if you live in Harrow Middlesex, for example, and the collecting companies are based in harrow their license must be with harrow council. Call the council and check, and do the same with the environment agency check the license number.

Don't trust what they say, don't be fooled by their excuses, some companies will go to
great lengths to get your auto, remember as the last recorded keeper, and if there is
any issue that arises after you have scrapped a car and the collectors are illegal; the
authorities will chase you. They will ask for proof of who collected your unwanted
vehicle  and when, all good disposal services will supply the owner with a full invoice
when they remove a car. They Do at .

To summarise 1, They have to be Motor Salvage Operator.

2, They must be licensed with the environment agency.

3, Do they supply you with a proper invoice.

4, Don't take chances look after your own interests when

you ask how to scrap the car, Check details. Don't trust what a say the authorities will
chase  you as you are the easiest target.
